I have a 2000 48v club car with a lester charger after 24 hours of charging the charger stays at 5 amps. at that time with charger still on i have. It's not 12 volts it's 12.6 because each cell is 2.1 volts. if the battery is 12.5 = 85% charged 12.4 = 65% 12.3 = 50% 12.2 = 35% 12.1 = drained is. I have never tried this with a car battery. the repair guide i used required at least one good tool battery to perform the fix. most people have at least one sitting around i would think.. The post explains a high current li-ion battery charger circuit which can be used for charging any high current, high ah rated li-ion battery from a 12v or a 24v source such as from a car or a truck battery..
